The Housewarming Retreat
A full day retreat to come to know yourself better
Service Description
This is the first of two retreats I am running towards peaceful living. This first retreat is called "The Housewarming Retreat" because it focuses on coming to know your living inner body. The second retreat (11 May) will deepen your ability to feel at home in your house and it is called "The Homecoming Retreat". Each retreat is unique and they can be booked separately or as a set. If you book both you will receive the discounted price of $300 instead of $360 - Full details of "The Homecoming Retreat" are also on the website. These retreats are for those who are ready to make a shift away from unnecessary stress and suffering. If you are looking for a pampering experience this is not it. ABOUT THE HOUSEWARMING RETREAT Think of yourself like a house - you are more than just this body and you are also more than your thoughts. From this premise we go deep into techniques to shine a light of awareness within ourselves and warm us - to wake us up to our feeling of aliveness. Here's how... Preparing the House 1) We will start by engaging in *optional* Shat Karma. These are classical yogic cleansing techniques including jala neti (clearing the nasal passages - yes, you will be given your own little neti pot to take away) and trataka (candle flame meditation - yes, you will be given your own candle to take away). 2) You will learn some Pranayama practices (breathwork techniques) known as "The Four Purifications" alongside 2 other breathing techniques that can be used to anchor you to the felt sense of the body. Holding the Warmth 3) After this initial cleanse and enlivening process through the breath - we will put it into practice through some somatic work and "test" our ability to hold the felt sense of the body under "normal" circumstances (i.e. conditions that arise in daily life). You'll learn more about your conditioned tendencies and how to stay present. Nourishment & Restoration 4) After lunch (lunch not included - please bring a pack lunch to have on site or $ to pop to Riteway) we'll go into a deep, silent Yin Yoga practice to allow the nervous system to digest the practices of the morning and get into the physical tissues. Support Outside - Support Inside 5) From this place, using a somatic centering technique, we will feel how we are supported in life, how there is an interconnectedness that can be used to keep us grounded in the warmth of our "house". Drink it in - Soak it up 6) Cacao Ceremony & Sound Bath & Close
